VINTAGE MOTORCYCLES SHIPPING

Vintage: An Anglo-French word for “Something of high-quality and lasting value, or showing the best and most typical characteristics of a particular type of thing, especially from the past; also, an object or item that’s used but of good quality.”

There are different categories of older motorcycles that share a lot of similarities, but to unify the term in order to talk about their transportation, let´s just include all of them in the 20 -30-year-old classification.

M&M VEHICLE TRANSPORT has been frequently transporting vintage motorcycles for many years, providing the special equipment, types of carriers and shipping methods, skilled drivers as well as required logistic infrastructure necessary to handle this kind of unique and high-value bikes.

THE BEST SHIPPING METHOD

Although we have many options and methods of transportation to haul delicate and fragile loads such as vintage motorcycles, our Enclosed Transport is by far the most secure and safest method recommended: a covered hauler with soft (heavy canvas) or hard, fully covered (hard-sided) walls and roof, ensures that motorbikes are protected from external factors such as bad weather and adverse road conditions during transit. This shipping method comes in various sizes, with the carrier´s capacity to hold from one to several motorcycles simultaneously. The Enclosed Method is more expensive than our Open Transport, a more common type of carrier used widely by dealers, which also uses special safeguards to secure the motorcycles, exposed to the elements but effective, safe, and more affordable. Our Door-to-door option provides a special service from/to your doorstep, the most advisable and convenient choice for this kind of vehicle. Additionally, there is another alternative in case the pickup and drop-off locations are a bit far apart of the way: terminal-to-terminal is an economical option, providing there is a terminal at each location.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SHIP A VINTAGE BIKE?

It depends on many factors such as origin and destination locations (distance), motorcycle specifications (make, model, size, weight, and condition), special requirements such as the need for oversized crates, special cradles, etc., type of transport method, time of the year and delivery timeframe. To have an idea, just call one of our logistics agents and provide the above information to get an estimate by requesting a free shipping quote.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHIP A VINTAGE BIKE?

Timeframes depend on several aspects that can affect delivery, like the season, the weather, road, and traffic conditions, and whether the pickup and drop-off locations are in rural or urban areas or near a highway
