SHIPPING YOUR CAMPER OR MOTORHOME

Whatever the reasons you may have to get your camper or motorhome shipped instead of driving it, is none of our business; what is certainly of our concern is to provide you with the best shipping experience, which we are experts at. The following are the basic steps you should be aware of before you start the shipping process:

¿WHAT IS A CAMPER OR MOTORHOME?

“A camper is a self-propelled vehicle that provides both transport and sleeping accommodation; whereas a motorhome is one with a Coachbuilt body”, is Wikipedia´s definition.  In other words, a camper or motorhome is a Recreational Vehicle (RV). Within this classification, we can find:

  • Fifth wheel camper: an RV that can be attached to the hitch receiver of any truck.
  • Teardrop Camper: Waterdrop-shaped, ultra-compact trailer.
  • Towable Camper: Lightweight travel trailer that can be towed by cars.
  • Pop-up Camper (tent Trailer): RV with collapsible roof and walls that can be folded into a compact package.
  • Toy Hauler Camper: RV with a living area as well as a garage space for “toys” such as bikes, canoes, kayaks, jet skis, or others.
  • Truck Camper: Portable structure with no wheels or chassis, carried in the bed of a pick-up truck.
  • Motorhome: A motor vehicle equipped for living in it.

¿HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SHIP MY CAMPER AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Estimating the shipping cost depends on size, weight, condition, distance, season, demand and gas prices, and the terminal-to-terminal or door-to-door option you choose.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS

You can either choose our Door-to-door option, where our assigned truck driver will pick up your vehicle from the address you provide and transport your car safely and efficiently to the exact address you need it dropped off, or either go for the terminal-to-terminal option, where you can have your vehicle picked-up and/or dropped-of at a storage facility.

PREPARING YOUR CAMPER FOR SHIPPING:

  • Store any hanging or lose items from surfaces and walls and/or secure them properly.
  • Secure and lock windows, cabinets, and doors by latching or taping them.
  • Heavy items should be removed from the vehicle in order to avoid extra weight charges.
  • Remove flammable liquids, food, and beverages
  • Do not leave any valuables or small items inside the vehicle.
  • Disconnect gas lines and power supply.
  • Roll down or remove TV antennas.
  • Turn off alarms.
  • Exterior pop-outs, slide-outs, and cargo doors need to be secured.
  • Be sure all vents are closed.
  • Check the sides, back, front, rear, and top lights; all of them should be in good condition.
  • Verify your tires’ proper pressure and good condition.
  • Check for leaks and if any, have them repaired.
  • Leave enough gas in your vehicle to be loaded and unloaded onto the transport trailer.
