M&M VEHICLE TRANSPORT allows personal items in vehicles while being shipped, even though there are restrictions and strict rules that our customers should consider and be aware of before doing so:
- Car transport companies are only licensed to transport vehicles.
- The carrier’s insurance covers your vehicle while being transported. Rules don’t apply to personal belongings, household goods, and other possessions included in a vehicle while being shipped.
If, despite the above considerations, you still decide, at your own risk, to bring personal items, here are our rules:
M&M VEHICLE TRANSPORT´S RULES
- You can transport personal items weighing up to 150 pounds with no additional fees. If you exceed this, there will be an extra charge, depending on the size of your car and the vehicle’s weight.
- Personal belongings are to be packed and in secure containers such as boxes, bags, or suitcases, neatly and safely placed in the trunk of the vehicle or in the back seat, properly stowed to avoid swaying, not above the window line, not blocking the driver’s seat from moving all the way back and leaving the driver´s seat empty so the carrier can maneuver the vehicle to load and unload it onto the trailer.
Prohibited items:
- Firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
- Hazardous materials like flammables, poisons, compressed gases, oxidants, corrosives, etc.
- Values (cash, money, bonds, precious metals, stones, and gems),
- Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, drugs, or medicines (either prescribed or illegal).
- Antlers, furs

- Preferably avoid delicate items that may break with the trailer´s sways.
- Choose our Enclosed transport service to reduce the risk of theft: a vehicle with personal items in plain view is most likely to be vandalized.
- Shipping personal items inside your vehicle is a service provided upon personal request and depends on the acceptance of the driver, so please inform our agent in advance.
