Electric Vehicles (EVs) – (electric battery-powered) and hybrid vehicles (with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor) are shipped exactly as regular vehicles. The same rules apply for preparation before the shipping process; however, there are two basic differences:
- These kinds of vehicles are powered by large lithium-ion batteries, specifically regulated by the government, as they are particularly volatile and can be dangerous when not properly handled.
- They contain more delicate components.
Our trustworthy transport team has a vast experience and every resource in handling this kind of vehicles
REQUIREMENTS FOR A SAFE TRANSPORT
- Charge the Battery: Unless you choose our door-to-door service, the battery should be fully charged so you can drive your vehicle to the pick-up point and delivery place. Battery charging will not affect the vehicle´s weight. For hybrids, it is recommended to keep the gas below a quarter of a tank.
- Inside the car: Do not leave personal valuables, objects, or other things that may get lost or damaged (chargers, GPS, etc.). Items in the trunk or inside the vehicle are not insurance covered.
- Outside the car: The vehicle must be fully clean in order to verify pre-existing scratches, dents, and bumps. Antennas should be retracted and side-view mirrors folded in.
- Remove: Toll tags, and EZ passes, and deactivate automatic parking passes from the windshield. Spoilers, racks, chips, and every other accessory and loose items should be removed.
- Pictures: Take good quality pictures from different angles to properly document the general condition of the vehicle.
- Disconnect the alarm.
