Vinyl wrapping is a good option for protection purposes and peace of mind; a temporary viny decal material is easy to put on and remove and will not come off the vehicle during the shipping process.  It is a protective film, the same used by car manufacturers, easy to peel off when no longer needed, ideal for covering any part of the vehicle.
